JOB SUMMARY
Assists in the provision of patient care, therapy support, departmental maintenance, and administrative duties as directed by PT, PTA, OTR/L, COTA, SLP in a therapeutic manner which acts to promote the patient’s functional ability and lead to improved quality of life.
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job
- Assist PT/OT/SLP staff in patient treatment under direct supervision of licensed team member.
- Prepare and maintain department treatment rooms and equipment for patient use.
- Responsible for assisting with clerical duties for department.
- Responsible for monitoring inventory (including DME as applicable).
- Responsible for assisting with departmental safety and quality control monitoring.
- Responsible for teaching basic rehab technician duties to students and volunteers.
Teamwork : Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and coworkers.
- Functions as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Accepts responsibility for actions; seeks, accepts, and acts positively upon feedback from others.
- Shares responsibility for effective internal communications through a team approach.
- Organizes individual patient caseload in collaboration with team workload demands.
- Performs daily administrative/office activities to ensure efficient flow of care within team.
- Provides orientation and guidance to new rehab staff in work area as requested
Technical Competency : Demonstrates technical competencies and job knowledge as it pertains to rehabilitative care.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of clinical therapy practice by identifying continuing education needs and participating in educational opportunities.
- Provides orientation and guidance to new rehabilitation staff in work area as requested.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: No experience necessary. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred : General working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. General knowledge of medical terminology.
