UVA Health is seeking a PRN Critical Care specialist to offer assistance to our busy team at UVA Prince William and Haymarket Medical centers. Our team practices evidence based critical care medicine with a diverse and high acuity patient population. Closed ICU model, with excellent nursing, RT, and subspecialty support including cardiology, surgery, IR, and neurology. UVA Health Critical Care Medicine consists of five full time procedurally trained APP's and three full time Critical Care providers. Access to onsite equipment and ancillary services such as bedside ICU ultrasound, difficult airway cart and glidescope on unit.
Details about our Unit :
- 11-bed closed unit at Prince William Medical Center
- Staffing model : Physician in house during the day with home phone call availability at night
- Shifts are 7am-7pm and home call from 7pm-7am
- Telemedicine support to Haymarket Medical Center for triage and management assistance to ED and hospitalists service for critically ill patients
- Round on patients in ICU with multidisciplinary team, for medical, surgical and cardiac critically ill patients. Perform any necessary critical care bedside procedures. Facilitate ICU throughput by evaluating and triaging critically ill patients throughout the hospital where needed, ie ED, OR .
- Average daily census is 8-10
