Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our Medical/Surgical team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
- Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of RNs and medical staff.
- Assist with feeding patients and ensuring proper hydration.
- Maintain patient rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper equipment function.
- Respond to patient call lights and assist with comfort measures.
- Transport patients and specimens as needed.
- Document care activities accurately in the medical record system.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Current Texas RN licensure.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Experience: Prior nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
