JOB SUMMARY: The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting patients, medical staff, and healthcare supplies to and from medical facilities, homes, or other locations. The driver ensures timely, professional, and compassionate service while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Support Services Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Patient Transportation:

- Transport patients safely to and from medical appointments, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or other healthcare facilities.
- Assist passengers with mobility issues, including helping them in and out of the vehicle.
- Secure wheelchairs and stretchers as needed, following safety protocols.
2.Vehicle Maintenance & Safety:

- Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and properly equipped for patient transport.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Possess basic vehicle maintenance and repair knowledge, including the ability to change a tire and perform simple troubleshooting.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and healthcare regulations.

3.Customer Service & Communication:

- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare professionals, and patients.
- Provide excellent customer service with a patient-focused approach.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and patient interactions.
4.Compliance & Safety Standards:

- Follow all hospital policies and HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
- Attend required safety and compliance training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:
- Experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer services preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift or assist passengers with mobility needs required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Proof of valid driver’s insurance, meeting state requirements.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider certification required
FUNCTIONAL DEMANDS
Functional Job Requirements:
