Uviquity is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Process Engineer to play a critical role in building the next-generation of Far UVC light engines for disinfection and other applications. This position will focus on the fabrication of devices utilizing a broad range of process technologies. The candidate should be a hands-on “doer”, eager to take ownership of challenges and execute complex development plans with minimal oversight. Innovation, communication and collaborative problem-solving abilities are required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop wafer fabrication processes using Deposition, Photolithography, Plasma Etch, and other technologies, leveraging the capabilities at multiple research institution cleanrooms.
- Perform wafer and die-level processing of parts through BEOL fabrication steps, including singulation, lap and polish, deposition, and inspections.
- Collect process metrology data to track equipment and process performance, and insure reproducible results.
- Process multiple device and short loop lots in parallel, while optimizing resource utilization and learning.
- Characterize film properties and fabricated structures for use in optical devices, including refractive index, absorption, in-film defects, roughness, and critical dimensions.
- Generate detailed reports to document accomplishments and challenges, brainstorm problem solutions and plan improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external consultants and foundry partners to deliver state-of-the-art performance requirements.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative culture across the organization, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ph.D. or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with 8 years of work experience in wafer fabrication is required.
- In-depth knowledge of a wide variety of semiconductor process technologies, including photolithography, e-beam lithography, plasma etch, and/or film deposition required.
- Experience with SPC, Design of Experiments, Root Cause Analysis required.
- Experience with fabrication of integrated photonic devices and/or III-Nitride materials preferred.
- Strong analytic and communication skills, flexibility, and ability to work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Must be able to work in a clean room environment for a significant part of the work day and work flexible hours when required.
- Must be comfortable handling chemicals, including corrosive acids, bases, and solvents with personal protective equipment (PPE).
