JOB DESCRIPTION :
Responsible for developing the overall education plan as well as facilitating education of facility staff. Serve as the facility's Infection Preventionist, overseeing and monitoring the facility's infection prevention plan and initiatives.
Infection Prevention :
- Serve as the facility's Infection Preventionist, as required by CMS.
- In collaboration with Porter Medical Center, maintain and monitor compliance with infection prevention policies and quality measures.
- Oversee the facility's infection prevention plan for both residents and staff.
- Manage annual flu prevention campaign and ongoing monitoring of infection prevention initiatives.
- Serve as a role model and coach, working collaboratively with all facility departments to implement pertinent infection prevention and control practices, considering regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and professional practice guidelines.
- Assists with on call coverage for nursing on weekends and holidays and off shifts.
Facility Educator :
EDUCATION :
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN (preferred) or LPN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
AD degree in nursing required. BS degree preferred.
Completion of Infection Preventionist Certificate within 6 months of hire
EXPERIENCE :
Effective communicator and team player.
Minimum of two years nursing experience in skilled nursing or health care.
Previous experience as an educator and / or infection control nurse.
Previous management experience preferred with a demonstrated record of success.
