JOB TITLE:
Assistant Director, International Students and Scholars
JOB PURPOSE:
The Assistant Director will assist in planning and implementing student recruitment strategies to help the University achieve enrollment goals; oversee data-driven assessment of recruitment strategies, assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising specific admissions programs or projects; serve as the primary liaison to sponsoring agencies, collaborate with colleagues in Admissions and Marketing to develop specific messaging for international audiences, and represent the University to prospective students and their parents. Central to this role will be excellent communication and project management skills and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in planning and implementing an international student recruitment plan, establish internal objectives and implement procedures to meet goals.
- Assess the impact and success of international recruitment activities through collecting and analyzing relevant data; recommend and implement improvements.
- Coordinate external and internal recruiting efforts of the University; assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising specific programs or projects, as assigned.
- Determine recruitment fairs, webinars, presentations etc necessary to reach target audience while planning budget requirements.
- Deliver webinars and in-person information sessions regarding university strengths, admissions criteria, and programs.
- Determine financial ability and academic eligibility of international students, including evaluating test scores and translating course descriptions.
- Work with Admissions to determine if freshman and/or transfer students may be admissible to the university under an exception to policy.
- Work collaboratively with other campus departments, staff, and faculty to establish recruitment objectives and develop long-term strategies.
- Build relationships with prospective students, their families, and school counselors to discuss admissions procedures and University policies.
- Work with sponsoring agencies to establish agreements and develop pipelines of international students at the University of Wyoming.
- Work with UW Office of the Registrar, Transfer Relations, UW academic departments and international partners to develop transfer agreements and articulation of courses.
- Engage with UW Institution Marketing to develop marketing collateral for international audiences.
- Engage international alumni in recruitment.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve on committees and assigned teams.
- Assist with advertising/marketing programs; assist in preparation of a variety of recruiting/admissions publications.
- Respond to general correspondence and assist with the preparation of newsletters for prospective students.
- Attend professional development workshops relating to recruitment and admissions.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship for H1-B work authorization or work visa is not available for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: 3 years work-related experience in higher education, recruiting, or international education
Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree
