POSITION SUMMARY :
Supervises clinical and clerical support staff in assigned area of responsibility. Assists in overseeing unit budget and operations ensuring quality patient care and cost effectiveness. Assists Operational Manager in the implementation of clinic strategic goals. Assists Operational Manager with employee performance issues and conducts performance evaluations in conjunction with Operations Manager. As needed, provides clinical care. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES :
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Strong leadership, training and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of staff within the organization and community.
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provides daily support and supervision to Unit staff, in the delivery of patient care and carrying out strategic vision. Integrates acquired or relocated physician practices as necessary and recommends Unit renovations and changes which improve customer service, profitability and / or physician efficiency.
Monitors staff resource utilization, including preparing and reviewing daily staff schedules, addressing short term fluctuations and assigning daily work and / or patient assignments.
Serves as a resource and communicates issues and / or changes to staff, manager and physicians ensuring Unit's overall compliance with regulatory, safety and hospital standards.
Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department operating and capital budgets analyzing monthly variances.
In collaboration with technical resources, oversees department staff education and performance evaluation process ensuring competence and compliance with department and hospital rules and regulations and human resource policies. Maintains an environment that promotes positive change strategies and individual growth.
Monitors and evaluates operational, financial and clinical outcomes and customer satisfaction making appropriate structural changes and communicating problems and / or progress to manager.
Maintains inventory analysis system ensuring appropriate use of supply and equipment resources within established budgetary parameters.
