Pay Range: $124,100.00 - $186,200.00 / year

Per Diem Staff will not be eligible to participate in any associate benefit plans sponsored by the Health System.

POSITION SUMMARY: Serve patients by reviewing and evaluating physician orders; preparing, dispensing, and delivering medications. Counsel customers in the pharmacy, in inpatient rooms, and recipients of mail-order prescriptions via phone as necessary. Monitor patient’s drug regimens and intervene when appropriate to ensure optimal drug therapy. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives. Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow. Provide drug information to the Health System staff, patients, and the community. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Capable of working independently. Ensure compliance with Health System, state, and federal policies, guidelines and laws. Maintain records for controlled substances, remove outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory. Be comfortable with giving immunizations and have immunization certification. |
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy. At least two years of experience preferred. Completion of ASHP-accredited residency preferred. Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained. |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure from State of Illinois or license eligible. |
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills required. Ability to use calculator and computer. Ability to effectively communicate and develop collaborative working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. |
