POSITION SUMMARY: A Surgical Technologist First Assist has the technical skills to assist the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures. Working under the direction of a physician, the STFA may provide direct care to patients preoperatively, intraoperatively and postoperatively. As a scrubbed member of the operating room team, plans for the STFA anticipating the surgeon's needs throughout the procedures. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. |
