Per diem, hours vary based on the needs of the schools UW Health is contracted with. Typical school year hours are Monday through Thursday 3:45 PM - 5:45 PM from September 1st through June 15th. Potential for summer hours. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of department.

We are seeking an Exercise Specialist – Sports Performance to:
- Design developmentally appropriate training programs and modify programs to fit the needs of the athlete.
- Implement a long-term athlete development plan using a sound youth athlete development philosophy.
- Effectively communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators.
- Assess athlete function related to movement skills, developmental and performance measures.
- Assist with development, marketing, and promotion of sports performance programs.
- Actively participate in staff education sessions. Provide after school weight room coverage to Madison Metropolitan School District area high schools.

- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field Required
- Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Strength and Conditioning or related field Preferred
- 1 year experience in sports performance training Required
- 3 years experience working with athletes from a variety of backgrounds in training and conditioning Preferred
- Obtain a national certification by at least one of the following organizations
- CSCS – National Strength and Conditioning Association
- Sports Performance Coach – USA Weightlifting
- Club Coach – USA Weightlifting
- PES – National Academy of Sports Medicine
- CSCC – National Strength and Conditioning Association
- BLS Certification Required
- Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification Preferred
- Movement-based assessment and evaluation certification Preferred
