Job Summary:

The Continuing Education Program Developer is responsible for creating, managing and growing non-credit, professional development programs to maintain and expand the current portfolio of Behavioral Health offerings. The majority of the Behavioral Health portfolio provides educational offerings for professionals and paraprofessionals in the field of behavioral health including but not limited to social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, and counselors. Ongoing analysis of the market, competition, and the industry direct efforts to expand programs and remain current. Responsibilities include working with teams across the unit in planning and scheduling courses, overseeing budgets, identifying and supporting subject matter instructors, and working directly with organizations on their professional development needs.

  • Program development (30%)
  • Identify growth areas through market research and analysis that reflect the changing needs of program participants
  • Develop new courses/programs/certificates to complement current offerings
  • Work with the marketing team to support marketing plans that aid growth of programs
  • Work with other areas within the Division of Continuing Studies to support marketing, administrative, and course development efforts
  • Ongoing evaluation of program success
  • Curriculum supervision and instruction (20%)
  • As needed, identify and hire qualified instructors
  • Coordinate overall structure of programming to meet learner needs
  • Provide training for instructors as needed for online delivery of curriculum or other best practices for adult instruction
  • Program management and delivery (45%)
  • Plan and deliver a portfolio of courses/certificates
  • Work closely with learners, both individuals and organizations
  • Specific areas of responsibility include program plans/budgets, maintaining the portfolio of courses, and learning evaluation/assessment
  • Work with marketing, registration, scheduling, and administrative staff to ensure successful and sustainable program
  • Communicate regularly with all program stakeholders to ensure quality control
  • Other tasks as assigned (5%)

Responsibilities: Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises non-credit staff. Applies and implements tools and technology that support continuing education opportunities to the institution.

  • 30% Supervises the implementation of non-credit continuing education-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • 10% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the non-credit program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 10% May monitor the unit or program budget and approve program expenditures
  • 30% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new non-credit programs or services
  • 10% Identifies subject matter experts to create course materials and teach courses
  • 10% Monitors market research data to identify sustainable programming

Qualifications:

Required experience:

  • 3 years of experience in developing programs that meet current market needs
  • 2 years experience in managing program plans, budgets and schedules
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and supporting subject matter experts and/or instructors
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the market need, associated industries, and the audiences for each program through market data and competitive analysis to improve and grow programs
  • Demonstrated experience in forming and expanding partnerships with relevant organizations/associations that provide industry standards, certifications, or other credentialing
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with support staff and other stakeholders

Preferred other knowledge, skills, abilities or experience:

  • Experience creating non-credit programs and relevant learning outcomes in the field of Behavioral Health
  • Experience working with professional licensure organizations (e.g., DSPS, APA, etc.) to ensure compliance with continuing education standards and requirements
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Commitment to designing high quality, inclusive programs and courses

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Minimum $63,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
