WORK SCHEDULE
Days, 100% FTE
Monday- Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm
RESPONSIBLITIES
The scheduler is responsible for the efficient administration and notification of the daily surgery/anesthesia schedule(s) to ensure that all pertinent information is available and that usage is maximized.
Ability to effectively communicate/interact with all stakeholders (clinic schedulers, physicians, leadership, and nursing personnel) to perform the duties of the position
Utilizing Epic EHR, schedules all OR cases accurately and in alignment with scheduling and block policies
Applies knowledge of procedural flow/resource requirements to optimize OR utilization
Identifies (or receives) changes to the surgery schedule, ensures that changes are recorded in appropriate systems and that all interested parties receive timely notification
Informs manager of all scheduling changes, and maintains open lines of communication to facilitate additional changes; understands and follows formal chain-of-command guidelines in performing job duties
Acts as a liaison between surgical services and the organization's surgery clinics to support requests and optimize OR utilization/resources
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty
Three years of Patient Support Service experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education/experience
