Job Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a neurologist with Alzheimer's disease training, interested in pursuing an academic career. A substantial portion of time will be devoted to research.

Responsibilities:

Clinical activities include attending duties one day per week in outpatient Alzheimer's clinics at the UW Hospital and Clinics, the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital or other affiliated locations.

Teaching responsibilities include teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows as well as teaching continuing education programs for physicians and the public.

Research activities include development of an independent, extramurally funded research program.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Qualifications:

Must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, board certification or eligibility in neurology, and Alzheimer's disease fellowship training or equivalent experience. Must have a WI medical license by the time of appointment.

Candidates for Associate Professor (Tenure) or Professor (Tenure) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Tenure track.

Additional Information:

This position will be a dual appointment with UW Madison and UW Medical Foundation.

The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you choose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every two years.

This position has been identified as a position that will be located in or regularly access UW Health locations. This position will need to adhere to UW Health policies and affiliated requirements.
