Job Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a child neurologist with subspeciality training in pediatric movement disorders interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our expanding Pediatric Neurology and Comprehensive Epilepsy Programs at UW Hospital and Clinics, American Family Children¿s Hospital and affiliated locations. This position includes opportunities for teaching and research.

Responsibilities:

Clinical activities include attending duties in pediatric neurology clinics and on inpatient services at the University Hospital and the American Family Children's hospital at the University of Wisconsin, Unity Point Meriter Hospital and affiliated regional hospitals and clinics. The candidate will also provide treatment and neuromodulation procedures for pediatric movement disorders patients.

Academic responsibilities include teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows as well as teaching continuing education programs for physicians and the public.

Scholarly activities include development of independent, extramurally funded research program.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Qualifications:

Must have completed a child neurology residency program, fellowship trained in pediatric movement disorders or equivalent experience. Must have a WI medical license by the time of appointment. Must be ABPN or AOBNP board eligible or certified in Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology.

Candidates for Associate Professor (Tenure) or Professor (Tenure) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Tenure track.

License/Certification:

The Department of Neurology has over 60 faculty and 25 advanced practice providers located at 20 S. Park/Meriter Hospital, University of Wisconsin Hospitals and UW Health Clinics. This is a diverse group of generalists and specialists that provides primary, secondary, and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care. The successful candidate will join a world-class institution that encourages, values and supports interdisciplinary basic, clinic and population health research, and attracts scholars and students from around the world.

This position will be a dual appointment with UW Madison and UW Medical Foundation.
