Job Summary:
The Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP) is a unique grantmaking program in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health Office of the Associate Dean for Social Health Sciences and Programs (OSHSP) committed to improving health and advancing health equity in Wisconsin through investments in community partnerships, education and research.
Grants awarded since 2004 propel medical and public health research and discovery, prepare future physicians and public health leaders, and improve health and advance health equity across Wisconsin communities. WPP was established at the SMPH as the result of a generous endowment gift from Blue Cross Blue Shield United of Wisconsin (BCBS) and approved by the Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner's Order of March 2000 when BCBS converted from a nonprofit service corporation to a stock insurance corporation. The proceeds from the sale of the company were distributed equally between the SMPH and the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Since WPP began making grants in 2004, its approach to grantmaking has harnessed the power of academic research combined with community knowledge to address some of Wisconsin's most pressing and complex health challenges. Our principles and practices are integrated with the time-honored concept of the Wisconsin Idea, recognizing the tremendous opportunity to bridge the knowledge and resources of the university with communities to improve life within the state of Wisconsin and beyond. Our mission and work are strongly aligned with the SMPH mission to advance health through innovative research, outstanding education and remarkable service to communities.
Under the supervision of the administrative director, the project coordinator shapes and advances WPP's convening framework which is designed to provide in-person and virtual learning, skill-building and networking opportunities for potential applicants and WPP grantees along with their academic and community partners to engage new potential applicants, garner interest in WPP grant programs and maximize the impact of their collective efforts to address health and health equity and to optimize sustained success. The project coordinator also oversees convening events across the OSHSP portfolio, including a regular seminar series and public events and conferences.
In collaboration with WPP's Operations and Communications teams, the project coordinator will implement, refine and enhance WPP's convening framework, including planning and coordination, communications and logistics, onsite execution and after event analysis to improve future events. The position also coordinates capacity support and resources for grantees who need additional financial, evaluation or program support. The project coordinator also handles logistics for communications projects, such as video production, highlighting the impact of our grant programs and grantees. The project coordinator will assist with WPP's project management tools to guide operations, convening, communications and special projects.

- Community Connections: Regional in-person events, typically held before releasing 1st annual call for community grants.
- Conferences: Every 5 years, bring together statewide partners with a keynote speaker to discuss relevant health topic(s) and come together on how best to come together to make a difference
- Information Sessions: Typically, virtual sessions for interested applicants focused on a particular WPP grant program
- Learning Collaboratives: Annual half-day in-person workshops for active community grant recipients and their academic and community partners focused on their work, learning and skill-building and networking
- SMPH Connections: In-person and virtual presentations with basic science and clinical science chairs and faculty in departments, centers and units across SMPH
- Public Learning Events: Virtual sessions open to potential applicants on a particular learning topic
- Tabling & Talks: Staff attend and participate in statewide conferences and events, tabling or presenting on WPP, our grant programs, and our impact
Responsibilities: Plans, analyzes, manages, coordinates, and tracks projects and quality improvement efforts for processes, procedures, and systems. Provides management consulting to improve organizational results.
- 40% Develops, schedules, coordinates, and prioritizes project work plans in accordance with specifications and resource limitations
- 20% Develops, enhances, and maintains operational standards and systems to support project teams
- 10% Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions
- 10% Establishes, monitors, coordinates, and controls project budgets versus actual expenditures and budget reporting
- 20% Serves as the initial point of contact for the project(s), serves on committees, and attends meetings representing the interests of the project(s)

- Experience in promoting events or learning opportunities and ensuring reach to the intended audience.
- Proven organizational, analytical and program development skills.

- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently and to be flexible to changing priorities.
