Responsibilities & Duties
Reports to: Executive Chef
Job Summary:
The Chef de Partie (CDP) is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The CDP will assist in training junior chefs, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and ensuring consistency in food production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Oversee and manage a specific kitchen station (e.g., grill, pastry, sauce, fish, meat).
- Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative input when required.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets presentation standards.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation, following hygiene and safety regulations.
- Adhere to food safety procedures, including proper handling and storage of ingredients.
- Assist in cost control by minimizing waste and efficiently using ingredients.
- Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service and high standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a passion for food quality.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Work Environment
This job is usually performed indoors, in a controlled environment, and experiences a moderate noise level in the work environment. This job has intermittent levels of high stress.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The employee is expected to work alternating schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Proven working experience as an Chef de Partie.
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Capable of delegating multiple tasks.

- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
