All work will be completed remote until installation begins (late 2024/early 2025). Then onsite work will be REQUIRED.

Description

The primary purpose of the Technology Specialist is to provide expert IT infrastructure technology leadership for the new DHHS Campus project to implement IT infrastructures that will be constructed to replace the Dorothea Dix campus IT networks.

Responsibilities

Perform technical analysis of the current “as-built” network/infrastructure for the purpose of designing and implementing a new secure IT network/infrastructure solution.
Conduct feasibility studies.
Gather and define business, functional and technical requirements definition.
Perform data modelling, process modelling and prototyping, and create conceptual and detailed architecture/designs (network and security), detailed specifications, IT infrastructure implementation plans, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product integration plans.
Install, configure, integrate and test (all levels) IT infrastructure components/systems (custom and COTS).
Provide IT infrastructure/systems support and transition knowledge to operations and maintenance support staff.
Create technical documentation and training materials.
Perform product/system research and review.
Support the development of technical requirements for RFI/RFP/IFBs.
Evaluate proposals submitted in response to issued RFI/RFP/IFBs.
Perform IT planning, systems conversion and/or migration.
Support the development of disaster recovery plans.
Work with the Senior Architect to assure continuity of planned technologies.
Review technical documents produced by the Developer or other external sources.
Perform technical architecture and other deliverable reviews for large-scale projects.
Assist the DHHS Project Manager with technical work breakdown structures and technical cost estimation.
Assist with issue and risk management.
Assist in any development and review of project management and technical documentation.
Perform tasks as assigned by the DHHS Project Manager.

Required/Desired/Highly Desired Skills

Understanding and experience with project management methodology. (Required 8 Years)
An in-depth understanding of distributed computing using N-tier, distributed processing, client/server, and Internet/intranet technologies. (Required 8 Years)
In-depth knowledge of network infrastructures. (Required 8 Years)
In-depth knowledge of network virtualization. (Required 8 Years)
In-depth knowledge of network LANs; VLANs, WANs; WLANs (Required 8 Years)
In-depth knowledge of network SANs; RTLS; VPN; TCP/IP
In-depth knowledge of session initiation protocol (SIP) (Required 8 Years)
In-depth knowledge of Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2); video conferencing; firewalls, voice, data and unified communications (UCS). (Required 8 Years)
Experience with the implementation of both COTS and customized enterprise networks. (Required 8 Years)
Experience with large scale projects crossing myriad functional areas using state-of-the-art technologies. (Required 8 Years)
Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and interviewing/facilitation skills. (Required 8 Years)
CCNP, CCIE, Certified Cisco Specialist or equivalent experience is required.
