Loader Operator
To complete jobs assigned by the Job Foreman. Checks the equipment prior to use on specific jobs. Notifies the Foreman when equipment breaks down and needs repairs. Handles job problems with little direction from Foremen. Completes jobs such as moving excess dirt, excavation, doing whatever the blade cannot do and being aware of safety at all times. Contribute to the Team effort for success by working wherever they are needed when they are available.
Requirements
- Able to accept and use clear and concise directions in order to complete work assignments
- Able to complete all required daily, weekly and monthly paperwork in a timely and effective manner with little or no corrections from the Foreman, if needed.
- Able to respond positively to any inquires and/or complaints from the Field Superintendents, Foreman, Super Foreman and other employees.
- Able to make decisions based on all available facts, situations and other resources, such as their Foreman and/or their Super Foreman that result in the resolution of the problems at hand
- Able to follow lines that are laid out
- Able to correctly operate equipment
- Able to travel to and from locations as needed
- Able to train less experienced employees in new aspects of the job
- Able to work any position, that they are trained on, as is required to complete the job
- Able to meet realistic deadlines and follow up to insure quality results
- Able to reason out any situation that prohibits the effective completion of the job.
- Able to train the operation of any piece of equipment on their job
- Able to work outside requiring tolerance of outside temperatures including excess heat, cold and precipitation
- Able to anticipate problems on the job before they happen in order to avoid wasted time and materials
- Able to make decisions that resolve the problem without attacking the person
Reporting Relationships
- Loader Operator reports to their Foreman on their assigned jobs
Responsibilities
- Complete all daily, weekly and monthly tasks, when needed
- Ensure all required paperwork and conditions are met and followed as designed
- Ensure the work area is clean and kept that way all the time
- Ensure the work area is accessible
- Ensure their equipment is clean
- Ensure they deal effectively with problems and redo’s as they arise
- Listen to any and all direction that is given and then follow them
- When it is inclement weather they do not come to work when notified by their Foreman
- Ensure they are doing their assigned jobs, taking their breaks when possible, and being a productive worker without having the Foreman looking for them.
Duties
- Can assist others depending on the situation
- Follow the estimate/bid to ensure job completeness and positive contractor relations
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to drive a company vehicle.
- They are able to understand general or conceptual drawings, including materials, methods of attachment, and any information necessary to make that drawing clear and complete.
- Revises their work duties per approved change orders
- Can run other pieces of equipment, as needed

- Quality of finished jobs meet or exceed standards
- Deadlines are met or exceeded
- Positive feedback received from Foreman, Super Foreman and Superintendents on communications and exchange of information
