What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Technical Design takes a 2 dimensional sketch and creates a 3 dimensional product, then engineers the product for bulk manufacturing. The Patternmaker is responsible for creating new silhouettes for a specific group of products to support innovation for new concepts including silhouette, proportion and construction standards for the Brand. The Patternmakers execute to the Brand standards to ensure consistency in fit, construction standards and quality.
- Translate 2D Design concept from sketch form into a 3D product by developing a pattern or measurement specifications that take into account fabric, silhouette and proportion
- Collaborate with Design to obtain clear direction and consensus on design aesthetic, fit intent and construction
- Responsible for draping or drafting patterns for new seasonal silhouettes that reflect the fit and balance for the Brand
- Lead Development fit sessions on live model and work with Design to achieve design aesthetic and communicate fit and balance to cross functional partners
- Engineer garments for bulk production while maintaining Vince construction and quality standards
- Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction to Design Development Director, Samplemakers and Technical Designers
- Identify potential production, quality or costing issues and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent
- Ensure size and fit consistency for development and production fit models
- Identify and proactively communicate business issues to manager and cross functional partners and provide timely recommendations and solutions to ensure quick decision making so deliverables are met
- Understand the competition and provide research and analysis in current and future trends and technology in the marketplace
- Foster open communication and team environment with all cross functional partners and receive constructive feedback

Qualifications/Experience We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Patternmaking
- 12-15 years of experience in the apparel industry as a patternmaker or draper
- Subject Matter Expert in women’s soft woven’s (blouses, dresses and skirts) development and production patternmaking, grading, construction and fit for multiple products
- Systems and Tool Acumen:
- Proficiency in computer patternmaking programs: Gerber, Lectra
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint
- Process Management: ability to follow process to get things done efficiently and effectively complete workload
- Relationship Management: ability to build constructive and effective relationships with all cross functional partners
- Presentation Skills: ability to effectively communicate fit to Design
- Influencing and Negotiation: ability to present ideas and direction that lead others to action
- Planning and Priority Setting: ability to organize work appropriately to meet and exceed department goals and objectives
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional listening, written and oral communication skills
