Manager, Global Streaming Strategy (Temporary / Contract)
The Team
The Global Streaming Strategy Team is responsible for the development and execution of global strategic plans for Warner Bros. Discovery s streaming services, namely Max, including HBO, and discovery . As part of the larger Streaming and Interactive organization, and specifically within the Streaming Finance and Strategy organization, the team executes detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis to help develop WBD s streaming strategy, further the strategic priorities of our streaming platforms, and support the leadership team with recommendations and insights.
Your New Role
We are looking for a New York-based Manager, Global Streaming Strategy, who will provide support in developing the strategy for WBD s streaming services (Max, discovery ) and other streaming / direct-to-consumer initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Streaming Strategy, this Manager will work on strategic projects for the Streaming and Interactive organization, with a special focus on cross-functional and global business initiatives. This role requires a high level of collaboration with functional areas within Streaming such as Content, Product, Tech, and Marketing as well as other WBD divisions. This role will work on a wide array of projects, including developing consumer-facing strategies for Max, supporting high-impact enterprise-wide special initiatives, and developing robust recommendations for leadership to support decision-making in key business areas.
Your Role Accountabilities
Provide strategic and analytical support on major streaming initiatives
Collaborate with operating teams across Streaming and Interactive (including Content, Marketing, Product, and Tech functions) and other WBD divisions (namely, Sports, Distribution, and Ad Sales) to achieve the strategic goals of Warner Bros. Discovery and its streaming platforms
Partner with regional streaming teams on initiatives and projects related to the global expansion of Max, competitive assessments, regional execution of global initiatives, and ex-U.S. strategies
Create executive-ready presentations with key insights, recommendations, and evaluations of strategic opportunities
Support the development of consumer-facing strategies to drive streaming growth, including partnering closely with the Content Strategy, Product, Marketing, and Distribution teams
Help assess global streaming growth opportunities and partnership initiatives
Collaborate with internal partners such as Research, Data Analytics / Science, and Finance in support of initiatives
Maintain an advanced knowledge of industry and consumer trends and apply insights to crafting recommendations on growth initiatives and new business opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
5 7 years of work experience that includes one or a combination of the following :
o Management consulting within the Media or Technology practice
o Strategy, corporate development, or business development at a media, technology, or direct-to-consumer company
Experience with streaming, subscription, and / or sports businesses preferred
Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many stakeholders and multiple simultaneous asks
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative DNA
Strong communication skills and a keen eye for presentation design with the ability to distill complex concepts and analyses into clear, easy-to-understand presentations for senior executives
Experience using modeling and analysis to inform critical business decisions
Passionate about media and entertainment with a voracious appetite for industry news
High level of integrity, strong work ethic, deep intellectual curiosity, and out-of-the-box thinking
Familiarity with Data Analytics / Visualization tools like Looker preferred
Ability to thrive and take initiative in fast-paced, ambiguous situations
