Job Summary :
The Tennessee School for the Blind is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, and campus. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for our visually impaired students.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor and patrol the school premises, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Provide assistance and direction to visitors, ensuring they follow school protocols.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter potential security threats.
- Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and medical emergencies.
- Report any suspicious activities or security breaches to the appropriate authorities.
- Conduct regular inspections of security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
