Systems Manager

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Systems Manager for our premier client in Jackson, Mississippi.

Education And Experience »

Candidates with more than the required 1yr experience in the following requirements will take preference:

• ANSI/NIST-CSL 1-1993 or later - Data Format for the Interchange of Fingerprint Information.
• EFTS – FBI’s Electronic Fingerprint Transmission Specification and/or EBTS – FBI's Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification.
• Java Mail.
• SMTP/SMTPS and POP3/POP3S email packages under Linux (such as Postfix and Dovecot).
  
  

Candidates with experience in the following real-time network-based interfaces will take preference:

• Nlets – National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System.
• III – FBI’s Interstate Identification System.
• AFIS systems.
• Law enforcement message switches.
  
  

Mandatory Skills

• UNIX (of any type) and/or Linux (of any type): 7 years.
• RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 or higher: 5 years.
• RDBMS (of any type): 5 years.
• PostgreSQL 8.4 or higher: 3 years
• XML: 5 years.
• HTML: 5 years.
• Java: 7 years.
• JDBC: 3 years.
• Tomcat 6 or higher: 3 years.
• Java Server Pages (JSPs)/Servlets/JavaScript​: 5 years
• .Scripting languages (such as Tool Command Language (Tcl)): 5 years
• .C/C with imbedded SQL (such as GNU C/C ): 7 years
• .Software Version Control systems (such as Apache Subversion): 2 years
  
  

.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• »Ability to investigate system problems and/or anomalies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.: 5 years
• .Ability to plan and schedule new development projects and hardware or software version migrations.: 4 years
• .Ability to effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing
• .Ability to interact with functional users and technical staff regarding business and information technology needs
• .Ability to listen to system users and solve problems

oJob Responsibilities

• :Enhancements to applications
• .Updates to interfaces (e.g., in alignment with updates to FBI EBTS specification)
• .Regular monitoring of system logs and transaction errors to identify and correct/improve system operations
• .Hardware and software product refresh
• .Conduct research in response to CIC staff requests and identify/implement corrective action or provide information about system processing
• .Coordinate with other vendors who support interfacing systems
• .Maintain system and user documentation
• .Support livescan and cardscan certification testing and operation
• .Implement new projects to provide new capabilities, including estimating, planning, development and training
