Key Responsibilities:
- Perform major engine repairs and overhauls, including diagnostics, disassembly, and reassembly.
- Rebuild or replace transmissions, ensuring proper alignment, functionality, and performance.
- Handle intricate repairs that require advanced knowledge of vehicle powertrains, internal engine components, and transmission operations.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues related to engines and transmissions.
- Maintain and repair other related systems, including cooling, fuel, and electrical, as necessary during engine and transmission work.
- Ensure high-quality repairs, meeting industry standards and customer expectations.
- Work closely with the service team to assess and determine the scope of repairs needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Keep detailed records of all repairs, parts used, and labor time.
Qualifications:
- Extensive Experience: Proven experience as an auto mechanic specializing in engine and transmission repairs, with a strong background in handling large and complex jobs.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of engine mechanics, internal components, transmission operations, and related repair processes.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot difficult mechanical issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to providing high-quality, precision work on every job.
- Tools and Equipment: Proficiency with a wide range of automotive tools and diagnostic equipment for engine and transmission work.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work on large, heavy components for extended periods of time.
- Certifications: ASE certification or equivalent training is highly preferred.
