Job Summary
Our South Carolina based client is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join their manufacturing team. This role is critical in driving process improvements, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring product quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in 3D modeling, CNC programming, and manufacturing process development, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction. As a Process Engineer, you will assist in research and development, collaborate with purchasing and maintenance teams, oversee engineering documentation, and support production line optimization. Your ability to develop and refine fabrication processes, improve tooling, and enhance workflow efficiency will be essential to the success of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the research and development of new products and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Work closely with purchasing teams to source and evaluate third-party suppliers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide engineering support to maintenance teams to improve production equipment reliability and safety.
- Develop and oversee engineering action plans for timely and cost-effective project execution.
- Oversee 3D and 2D drafting of product drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation for manufacturing.
- Manage engineering change requests, reviewing feasibility and implementation strategies.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop processes and tooling for new and existing products.
- Program and oversee CNC and NC equipment to improve production capabilities.
- Assist in plant layout optimization, ensuring efficient material flow and equipment placement.
- Provide support to warranty, sales, and marketing teams for product-related information and sales materials.
- Continuously review and refine manufacturing processes to identify cost and time savings.
- Maintain accurate engineering files and documentation for production operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in SolidWorks 3D modeling for manufacturing applications.
- At least 1 year of experience with CAM software, preferably with routers or vertical machining centers (VMCs).
- Hands-on experience with machine setup and production processes.
- Strong ability to work closely with production teams to identify and resolve process inefficiencies.
- Welding and fixture design experience is preferred.
