Introduction and Scope:
- Desktop Support Administrator within the organization supporting the Product Development - Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
- Provide Tier-1 and Tier-2 level End User Support for Windows and Linux based clients within established SLAs
- Work with user community to perform advance root cause analysis and develops checklists for typical problems
- Work with Security teams to ensure compliance with all security policies and procedures
- Re-imaging OS and installing software on Windows and Linux clients
- Support web based and client based applications to fulfill business needs
- Escalate problems to next level support professionals when necessary
- Works under general supervision; typically reports to a team lead or supervisor/manager
- Operating System Upgrade (upgrade to next LTS version) - Physically touch each laptop as no central distribution/update method available for Ubuntu (Linux)
- Ubuntu Software Installs and Configuration Examples: MATLAB, Java, Python, and MagicDraw.
- Windows Software Installs and Configuration Examples: PreeVision, Java, Python, and MagicDraw.
- Ubuntu OS Trouble Shooting and some hardware support for end users. Recent examples: WiFi Connectivity @Client, Device Driver Installs
- Ubuntu OS reinstalls when user installation becomes corrupted
- Dual Boot Machine Windows support as needed (including Windows reinstalls)
- Ubuntu Test Bench hardware and software setup and maintenance
- Tools installation and configuration
- OS configurations to communicate with test bench hardware
- Configuration of static IP leases
- Storage upgrades
- Windows Test Bench hardware and software setup and maintenance
- Tools installation and configuration
- OS configurations to communicate with test bench hardware
- Configuration of static IP leases
- Setup and configuration of WinRM for remote execution
- Remote access group and user setup
- Fulfillment of remote access requests
- Fulfillment of VPN Access Requests
- Facilitation of Client network requests - Conversion of network drops
- Ubuntu Install Scripts continued development
- Assist with Persistent Guest Accounts requests
- Source Code Management and Version Control in GitHub for Ubuntu Install scripts
- Software rollouts for NA Ubuntu Clients i.e.
- Collecting business requirements and coordinating with end users, this may require creating ITIL requests or similar and coordination with other teams globally.
