Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Representative:
Must be customer focused.
Job Responsibilities
Monitors contract compliance of all maintenance activities as defined in the Quality Assurance Manual.
Performs in-process and final inspections of all maintenance actions involving the safety of flight or requiring certification by an Aircraft Inspector.
Investigates safety incidents and assists in preparation of Engineering Investigation Request, Quality Deficiency Reports, Hazardous Material Reports, Technical Publications Deficiency Reports, and Explosive Mishap Reports as required.
Monitors operation of support equipment required for flight operations.
Performs spot checks for compliance with Tool Control Program.
Monitors calibration program of Precision Measuring Equipment (PME).
Reviews applicable maintenance forms and deficiency data to determine discrepancy trends and specific problem areas.
Assist in the drafting and development of work instructions, maintenance instructions, local maintenance requirement cards, Quality Assurance Bulletins, and routine and continuing correspondence to all work centers detailing maintenance and program procedures and requirements.
May be assigned as a training instructor as required.
Responsible for the establishment of the daily FCF requirements, briefing and debriefing the pilots, and closing out the FCF documentation at the end of the flight schedule day.
Assists in the preparation of the Quality Management Review, Monthly Maintenance Plan and Monthly Personnel Plan.
Assists in the preparation of weekly/monthly/quarterly Quality Assurance Control Status Report for inclusion in the report to the Program Management Office.
Reviews incoming technical publications and directives to determine their application to the Maintenance Department.
Performs other related duties.
Deals with the customer in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
Comply with and monitors all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
Assists as directed to ensure safety, security, and preservation of government/company-owned equipment.
Maintains cleanliness of work center.
Comply with and monitors Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste, and Tool Control programs.
Perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
Perform ADR analysis (Air Data Recorder).
Basic Qualifications
The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector shall have a minimum of five (5) years within the last ten (10) years of experience performing repair and modification of high-performance aircraft. The QA Inspector shall have at least five (5) of the ten (10) years as a QA representative or four (4) years as a collateral duty QA representative as defined in COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series.
The QA Inspector shall have a minimum of five (5) years of aircraft maintenance experience as a practicing licensed FAA airframe and power plants inspector or as an aircraft-quality control representative/specialist in the military (E-6), civil service (WG-10), or Government aviation maintenance contractor inspector. The QA Inspector shall have experience on applicable aircraft and possess fully developed skills and experience related to the technical fields under their cognizance; must be experienced in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, replacement, rigging, and testing of aircraft systems and components. Must be able to obtain the level of security clearance required by the Government.

The Quality Assurance Representative:
- Monitors and evaluates all maintenance actions, ensuring safe and reliable aircraft are provided to the customer.
- Ensures process discipline through verification of current technical manuals, technical directives, work instructions, quality bulletins, Aviation Maintenance Advisories (AMA), Technical Engineering Instructions (TEI), and Navy instructions applicable to the maintenance program.
- Monitors safety, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment that protects employees and the environment while conserving resources and providing a safe product.
- Performs Audits, Monitors, and Process Reviews as directed by Quality Assurance Manager ensuring conformance to contractual requirements and AS 9100(c).
- Must possess an in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures, aircraft and accessory systems, technical and maintenance publications, technical directives, ground support equipment (GSE), and special tools.
- Must have the ability to research, read, and interpret technical drawings and write with clarity and technical accuracy.
- Must be able to brief and debrief Function Check Flight pilots on the requirements of check flight profiles and expected results.
