Responsibilities

• Design and develop quality ML systems to include creating and implementing algorithms and models that can learn from and make predictions based on data.
• Collaborate within an agile software development process with software engineers subject matter experts, and stakeholders to integrate ML solutions into broader systems.
• Prepare data through collection, cleaning, and preprocessing to ensure it is suitable for training models.
• Serve as a technical resource or subject matter expert when needed to support the customer and future proposal efforts.
• Peer review the work of other ML engineers and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups.
• Mentor junior ML engineers.
• Contribute to the improvement of processes and practices.
• Prepare reports on all aspects related to ML development.
  
  

Qualifications

• Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field
• Experience:
• 8 years of Experience successfully designing, developing, implementing, and training ML algorithms and models.
• 5 years of Experience successfully collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data for use with ML models.
• 5 years of Experience deploying models into production environments and maintaining them to ensure they continue to perform well over time.
• 5 years of experience providing in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues
• 5 years of experience with a source control tool such as git
• 5 years of experience with a software lifecycle management tool such as Azure DevOps
• 5 years of experience writing unit tests and performing code reviews
• 5 years of experience with current and emerging software development methodologies, processes, and life-cycle models, (e.g. CMMI and Scrum)
• Skills & Technology Used:
• Agile/Scrum software development practices
• Azure DevOps
• PostgreSQL or SQL and Database Operations
• Linux (CentOS, RHEL) and Windows Operating Systems
• Object-oriented languages and web development technologies
• C#, Python, PyTorch, scikit-learn, SQL (especially PostgreSQL), Entity Framework
• Docker and containerized web services
• Visual Studio
• Other Requirements:
• US Citizen
• Active DoD SECRET level security clearance required.
