Working at the Fort Liberty Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), the Tractor Operator is responsible for ensuring all areas within the ASP and outside perimeter fence lines are maintained and kept neat and clean from debris and vegetation to comply with regulatory requirements. All equipment must be maintained as it is used, this includes using mowers and weed eaters safely operated.

Major Job Activities
- Mowing/Weed eating and maintaining vegetation at the ASP administrative areas, storage locations (e.g. Deployment Ammunition Storage Area (DASA), pole barn, residue yard) and customer parking areas.
- Mowing/Weed eating and blowing off sidewalks and building entrances.
- Mowing/Weed eating around all light poles/telephone poles.
- Mowing/Weed eating earth covered magazines, maintaining a 50 ft. fire break.
- Mowing/Weed eating outside fenced area (where practical), maintaining 12 ft. security zone.
- Mowing/Weed eating inside fence line (where practical), maintaining 30 ft. security zone.
- Maintain vegetation 5 ft. from all paved surfaces and culverts.
- Heavy Duty Pick-Up
- Tractor w/ brush hog and grooming mower
- Zero Turn Mower
- Slope Mower
- Weed Eater
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Work will typically be in a outdoor environment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 75 pounds.
- Must be able to operate in a outdoor type of environment.
- Periods of prolonged standing, squatting and bending.
- Must be able to walk on uneven ground and within work various sites 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as, Face Mask, hand, eye, or head gear, steal or composite toe safety shoes/boots.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass the background check to have unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition and explosives.
- Must have a valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Public Trust Tier 1.
- Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
- Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
- Three (3) years or more experience in grounds maintenance preferred.
- Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
- Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
