IT Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer with 10 years of experience to manage and enhance our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cyber security, Cisco Meraki, Azure, and Microsoft 365, and a proven track record of maintaining and improving IT systems, preferably within the engineering industry. This position can be based in either our Woodridge, IL or Chicago, IL office.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the company IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
• Implement and manage Cisco Meraki solutions to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
• Oversee and optimize Azure cloud services, and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies to protect the company’s IT infrastructure, including monitoring and responding to security incidents, conducting regular security audits and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary technical teams to understand their IT needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices.
• Manage the setup and deployment of IT infrastructure for new office locations.
• Oversee the renewal of software contracts to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Handle invoice processing for accounts payable.
• Generate quotes for software and hardware purchased.
• Manage projects related to upgrading internet circuits.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT systems administration or systems engineering.
• Extensive experience with cyber security, Cisco Meraki, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
• Proven experience in maintaining and improving IT infrastructure, preferably within the engineering industry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (i.e. Cisco Certified Network Professional, Microsoft Certified, Azure Administrator) are a plus.
