The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer an exciting opportunity for recent college graduates to join our team as a Business Associate. This role supports the SCM’s Contract Risk Management (CRM) Team and is part of our Associate Program designed to help you unlock your full potential.
This team is responsible for mitigating risk in IT procurements that are classified as high-risk, major projects, and Cloud/SaaS procurements.
This team also delivers and manages a quarterly IT procurement training for all customers.
The selected candidate(s) will support the following areas within the risk management team:
- Provide project management and coordination support to the team.
- Provide technical scribing support during active Cloud services (COVRAMP) negotiations.
- Document new processes and continually improve existing ones.
- Receive training on the Virginia Public Procurement Act and its practical application in solicitations, contracting and sourcing activities.
- Support the collection and accurate reporting of CRM metrics.
- Support market research activities in support of all CRM services.
- Support the review and approval of IT requisitions and purchase orders that are in-scope to VITA’s authority.
- Support the logging, tracking and reporting of customer’s Cloud Terms (COVRAMP) request from submission of the request form by the agency to final approval.
- Provide support with the review of IT solicitations and contracts of varying degrees of complexity and risk that are Cloud-based or Software as a Service (SaaS).
- Provide support with review of solicitations and contracts that are categorized as a major project and/or high-risk.
- Support the review and analysis of IT solicitations and contracts for compliance with applicable laws, policies and guidelines such as the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA) and VITA’s Security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Support in the delivery of IT Procurement training.
- Support in policy review and maintenance activities in collaboration with team members.

Minimum Qualifications
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders.
Experience with Microsoft 365 platform, including MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Strong organizational, project management and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to changing high-volume environments while maintaining a focus on the needs of customers.
Ability to partner and collaborate effectively with colleagues (e.g., customers, stakeholders).
Ability to plan, monitor, gather, and coordinate information, and prioritize between multiple requirements, objectives, projects, and tasks.
Dedicated to the highest standards of honesty, quality, and integrity.
Organized in managing documents and information with a logical, analytical approach to attain conclusions and recommendations.
