The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as an Infrastructure Solutions Architect.
Responsibilites include:
Provide direct input to RFS 2.0 service requests to ensure accurate and ideal solutions are created for agency requests.
The position is responsible for technically understanding Platform Services to include cloud, SSDC, security and VDN.
This position will enable customers to get quick and accurate solutions enabling quicker and efficient implementations.
This role consists of maintaining a broad view of the services that are currently provided and those that need to be.
The expertise will also assist in the SPLM process by clearly understanding the solution and depicting deficiencies with the appropriate parties.
Additionally, this position can provide back up support of key Service Owner roles when necessary.
This role will assist with optimizing and increasing the value of current architecture process by modifying architecture requirements to be user ready and utilized in everyday instances.
This role works in concert with the VITA Multisource Service Integrator (MSI) as well as other suppliers and customers to ensure 'roadmaps' are complete, understood, and logical.
The role will ensure our operation architecture processes meet and/or exceed industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will be expected to become well-versed in all IT security roles and services from each of our Service Towers.
In addition to providing technical leadership, this person will also serve as a thought leader, helping to identify new opportunities and drive VITAs continued growth across the infrastructure services landscape.

Minimum Qualifications
Review, assess, and inform solution designs, enterprise system architectures and cloud modernization efforts.
Review and assess architecture roadmaps to drive improvements, adjustments and frame technical standards.
Translate and communicate strategic architecture visions into implementation level guidance for platform delivery teams.
Work with delivery teams to address architecture, integration and technical issues, and in some instances lead the technical implementation of the solution.
Lead complex projects/issues that require in-depth solution delivery and integration.
Collaborate with delivery teams to review implementation plans, develop solutions, and advise on practical implementations.
Collaborate on functional requirement conversations both for new Commonwealth application needs to ensure capabilities are captured and transitions from legacy applications.
Understanding of the platform’s various service solutions such as VDN, Server, Storage, Operations Security, End User Service, Public Cloud, and Messaging.
Additional Considerations
Five or more years' experience in system architecting or solutioning.
Experience using Agile and DevSecOps strategies, methods, environments, and tools for incremental deliveries.
Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, Google Cloud Platform, (GCP), or Oracle OCI.
Strong organizational, time-management, verbal / written communication skills, and able to convey information across multiple customer and corporate audiences.
