Accounting Manager (Hybrid/Flex)
Our growing firm is looking for passionate problem-solvers driven to make a real impact! We are hiring a Accounting Manager with a background in project accounting to work closely with the CFO in providing accurate and timely financial reporting and insights to drive business performance and decision-making. The successful candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, deep understanding of accounting principles & standards, and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders. The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and manages all employees of the accounting department.
Your role:
Oversee daily financial operations including management of cash flow and bank accounts.
Create, analyze and maintain all financial and project reporting.
Manage payroll processing and distribution, including payroll vendor and 401k vendor.
Manage payroll process and PTO calculations.
Manage client invoicing process to ensure timely and complete invoicing.
Manage the profit-sharing plan, including bi-weekly payments and year-end calculations.
Oversee worker's compensation audits and paperwork.
Project Management support (financial/budgetary)
Annual overhead rate calculation/backup
Special/additional management responsibilities as requested. (i.e. human resources back-up, management support team, business continuity team).
Conduct annual performance reviews.
Address and effectively resolve personnel or departmental issues in a timely and professional manner.
Provide positive feedback and encouragement and help troubleshoot workplace issues when they arise.
Assign specific tasks and delegate responsibilities as necessary to accounting staff.
Reinforce and demonstrate safe work practices and proper attitudes toward safety and health.
Your resume must include:
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
CPA or CMA certification
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience in a professional services environment, preferably within the AEC industry.
Technical
- Proficient in MS Suite (Excel, Word, Access), Ajera software.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Knowledge of accounting data workflow.
- Controller experience - preferred.
- Engineering consulting services business experience - preferred.
- Project reporting experience - preferred.

- Works efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high quality, accurate results.

- Good interpersonal skills; able to interact professionally with company owners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
Starting Annual Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000. A variety of factors are considered when determining an offer including, but not limited to, market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills.
