Our local team is seeking an experienced housekeeping professional to manage our vacation home rental housekeeping operations. We are open to hiring varying levels of experience, but do require proficient housekeeping and supervision experience.

ABOUT YOU:
You're an experienced housekeeper understanding the workflow of cleaning and how to balance time and detail for optimal results. You are independent, self motivated, and have no issue getting your hands dirty and being on your feet in a fast paced environment. You like working with a team, have strong communication skills, and an understanding of being a professional. You have creative ideas and like being able to contribute ideas and shape how the company and team operates. Not easy flustered or stressed, you have a calm resolve and ability to stay solution oriented as problems arise. You love to help people, and take pride in seeing others succeed. You have experience supervising and/or managing a team and are eager to further expand your skills doing so.
JOB SUMMARY:
The housekeeping supervisor / manager is responsible for managing our housekeeping department, including the department staff, training and orientation, staff and service scheduling, quality control, staff supervision and engagement. It has a healthy blend of administrative work as well as work in the field working with properties and staff. Occasional cleaning should be expected to assist the team in a crunch and get the job done. In addition, periodic after hours staff support should be expected (i.e a team member reaches out to let you know they are sick and will not be in tomorrow, requiring an alteration to the schedule).
VRA manages properties in South Tahoe, North Tahoe, and Truckee with our primary headquarters in South Tahoe near the "Y." This position will involve work on both sides of the lake, but we prefer to hire someone in the South Tahoe area.
- Learning our housekeeping position
- Directly manage housekeeping team, being a resource day to day for them
- Assist hiring, training, quality control assessments and performance reviews
- Make field visits in South and North Tahoe / Truckee, checking quality and engaging with staff
- Perform cleaning duties in a crunch to assist the team (as needed
- Handle occasional after hour issues, like a staff call in, schedule adjustment, or similar
- Work together with the regional manager and dispatch teams to accomplish housekeeping goals
- Contribute to and help oversee seasonal strategy of staffing and operations including seasonal care, deep cleaning and more.
Safety
- Follow safety procedures and precautions performing tasks and using equipment / supplies
- Participate in training on potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or hazardous chemicals
- Ensure staff operate within safety parameters and have necessary tools and PPE to do so
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Have your own 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle and state minimum insurance coverage
- Valid Drivers license
- Basic proficiency with phone applications
- Cleaning experience preferred, especially in vacation home rentals (VHR)
- Professionally and clearly communicate through reports and face-to-face
- Ability to perform manual labor for long periods and move to / from and throughout homes
- To push, pull, move, and/or lift up to 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet
