Vaco Phoenix is partnering with a local organization in search of an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and optimize their AP operations. This leadership role focuses on ensuring prompt and precise invoice processing, strengthening vendor partnerships, and enhancing internal workflows. The ideal candidate will bring both strategic oversight and hands-on expertise to a high-performing accounts payable team.
Pay: Up to $95,000 per year
Location: Glendale - Onsite
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the full lifecycle of the accounts payable process, including invoice review, approvals, and payments.
Validate billing details by cross-referencing purchase orders, delivery confirmations, and receipts.
Direct the timing and execution of vendor payments via various methods (ACH, check, wire, etc.).
Monitor and manage outgoing cash flow to maintain optimal liquidity.
Provide day-to-day leadership to AP staff - offering guidance, training, and feedback to support team success.
Organize and prioritize workload to meet payment deadlines and ensure efficiency across the team.
Build and maintain solid vendor relationships, proactively addressing payment inquiries or disputes.
Investigate and resolve billing or payment issues to maintain accurate financial records.
Reconcile vendor accounts and the AP ledger regularly to ensure financial accuracy.
Compile AP metrics and financial insights for leadership reporting and decision-making.
Uphold and enforce internal financial policies and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
Strengthen internal controls to reduce risk and improve accuracy across all payables activities.
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline the AP workflow.
Organize and safeguard documentation in preparation for audits or compliance reviews.
A minimum of seven years' experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.
A strong grasp of financial processes, controls, and accounting standards.
Proven ability to lead and mentor a team in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
