LOCATION: North Dallas, TX (Allen / Frisco / McKinney)
WORK LOCATION: 1-day onsite in North Dallas, TX ***the first month, will require 3-days onsite Tue, Wed, & Thur for training and onboarding. Then, the role can transition to 1-day onsite per week.

OVERVIEW
Vaco Dallas is seeking a highly skilled Security Analyst for a direct hire opportunity in the North Dallas, TX area. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional with deep expertise in threat detection, network security, and risk mitigation. The Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and securing IT systems, responding to incidents, conducting audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to protect the organization's data and maintain a strong security posture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
- Identify and evaluate potential vulnerabilities across IT infrastructure
- Design and implement strategies to mitigate security threats
- Recommend proactive security enhancements based on industry trends and internal findings
- Security Monitoring & Incident Response
- Monitor networks and systems for security events and suspicious activity
- Investigate and respond to security breaches, policy violations, and other incidents
- Analyze logs, traffic data, and alerts to detect anomalies and prevent attacks
Policy & Compliance
- Develop, maintain, and enforce IT security policies and standards
- Assist in compliance audits and respond to inquiries from management or regulatory bodies
- Support internal and external audits related to IT security
- Security Testing & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and regular audits
- Stay informed on the latest threats, technologies, and compliance requirements
- Ensure security tools and technologies are properly configured and optimized
Cross-Team Collaboration & Training
- Provide support to team members regarding secure configurations and practices
- Facilitate training sessions and awareness campaigns to promote security hygiene
- Serve as a point of contact for information security best practices across departments
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Expertise
- 3 years of experience as a Security Analyst or similar role in an enterprise IT environment
- Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM, firewalls, and endpoint security tools
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems security configurations
- Strong understanding of encryption technologies, VPNs, malware mitigation, and DLP solutions
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell
- Experience with patch management, vulnerability scanning, and risk analysis
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and auditors
- Skilled in drafting policies, documentation, and technical reports for various audiences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
- Relevant certifications such as Security , CySA , CEH, or CISSP
- Experience with penetration testing tools and vulnerability management platforms
- Background in business continuity, disaster recovery planning, or audit support
In our commitment to transparency throughout the hiring process, we provide a target annual base salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 bonus for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) experience, work location, and skills. Additionally, this position is eligible for comprehensive benefits provided by the hiring employer.
