A well-established company in the insurance sector is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join its team in Charlotte, NC, Hartford, CT, or Branchville, NJ. This role follows a hybrid work model in one of these above locations. The company is looking for a leader to oversee an application development team with both on-shore and off-shore teams. This position is not hands-on coding but will focus on leadership and team management.
Responsibilities:- Lead a high-performing development team to deliver key business initiatives.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Address technical challenges and escalate issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with Product, Business, and IT stakeholders to align technology with business goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and software quality.
- Help prioritize new development projects, system enhancements, and maintenance requests.
- Contribute to project planning and estimation efforts.
- Oversee design, code, and test plan reviews to ensure best practices.
- Report on KPIs and program progress to leadership.
- Focus on team leadership, performance management, and coaching, with no hands-on coding.
- 7 years of experience in leading software development teams or hands-on development.
- Strong background in full-stack development using .NET, C#, Angular, APIs, and SQL.
- Knowledge of modern Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, test-driven development, and test automation.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in coaching and managing teams.
- Track record of successfully delivering complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
