The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, including account reconciliations, general ledger and journal entries, job costing, and providing support during the audit process. Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Reconciliation:
o Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including production-related accounts such as raw materials, inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
o Ensure that all accounts are accurately maintained and resolve discrepancies as needed.
o Investigate and correct any inconsistencies in account balances to ensure financial accuracy.
2. General Ledger & Journal Entries:
o Prepare and post journal entries related to manufacturing activities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting principles.
o Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
o Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
3. Job Costing & Data Entry:
o Input and update job costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, into the accounting system for various manufacturing jobs.
o Track and monitor job costs to ensure accurate allocation of production costs.
o Work with production teams to validate job costing data and investigate discrepancies.
4. Audit Support:
o Assist with both internal and external audits by providing requested documentation, job cost data, and financial information.
o Support the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries related to job costing and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
* Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including materials, labor, and overhead cost structures.
* Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: 55-58,000/yr. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
