What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Manager position at Vaco by Highspring?
Our Oakland County client has exclusively engaged us to to identify a Tax Manager. The Tax Manager will be responsible for review of tax forms for a variety of clients, including S-Corp, C-Corp, partnership and individual federal, stated and local tax returns. In addition, the Tax Manager will be responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships across a variety of industries. The Tax Manager will also be responsible for mentoring, coaching and developing tax staff.
The ideal Tax Manager must have 3 years of progressive tax experience, with at two years in public accounting and two years of people management experience. The ideal candidate must also have strong tax preparation experience, including preparation of various tax forms, i.e. 1040, 1065, 1120, etc. In addition, the ideal candidate should have prior customer facing and client development experience. Prior experience utilizing a large tax software, such as Drake or UltraTax is required. Strong Excel experience including pivot tables and vlookups is required. Bachelors degree in accounting, finance or equivalent major required. CPA and/or MBA highly preferred.
Compensation: Base salary for this position will range between $90,000 and $130,000, depending on skills and experience.

With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
