We are seeking a highly skilled Fortinet Firewall Engineer for a 3-month engagement. This role will focus on configuration, security enhancements, and daily maintenance of Fortinet firewalls, ensuring best practices are followed to strengthen the organization's security posture.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Fortinet firewalls and will work closely with the internal team to provide hands-on support, guidance, and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Firewall Optimization & Security Enhancements.
- Assess and optimize current Fortinet firewall configurations.
- Implement best practices for security policies, rule management, and performance tuning.
- Daily Firewall Maintenance & Management:
- Perform ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of firewalls.
- Ensure firewall rules and configurations align with security standards and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the standardization of firewall configurations across the environment.
- Document policies, procedures, and changes for internal knowledge sharing.
- Provide hands-on training and guidance for internal IT staff.
Qualifications: - Strong experience in Fortinet firewall configuration, management, and security policies.
- Knowledge of network security best practices, firewall rule optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of VPNs, intrusion prevention, and access control mechanisms.
- Professional Experience:
- 3 years of experience working with Fortinet firewalls in a security-focused role.
- Previous experience in firewall standardization and optimization projects.
- Fortinet NSE4, NSE5, or higher is a plus.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
