Reports To : Mechanical Engineering Manager FLSA Classification : Exempt
SUMMARY
Researches, develops, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Design, develop, and optimize complex mechanical systems, including associated components and equipment, to meet specific requirements and performance standards, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
- Utilize Solidworks for design data processing and for developing alternative designs.
- Draft 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings, detailing component / assembly dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions to guide production processes and ensure accurate / streamlined fabrication.
- Oversee and coordinate the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
- Research and analyze documentation, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Plan fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and develop methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
- Develop and presents comprehensive design reviews to customers, effectively communicating mechanical design / progress.
- Work with procurement to requisition long-lead and other BOM (bill of material) items
- Occasional travel to customer sites is needed. Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
