Equipment Service Manager
Summary:
Vacuum Truck Rentals, LLC, is one of the largest vacuum truck rental companies in the U.S. with a fleet of more than 1000 pieces of equipment and 18 locations nationwide. With a strong emphasis on the customer experience and a 24/7 service guarantee, we are seeking an experienced full-time equipment service manager in our Livonia, Michigan office with experience in working with diesel / hydraulic engines and heavy equipment preferred.
In addition, the Equipment Service Manager will ensure that equipment, materials, and subordinate man-hours are used to maximize productivity. Will coordinate the activities of shop technicians and oversee the repair of equipment to ensure that repairs are done timely and satisfactory. Must be resourceful, dependable, and able to give and follow instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our vacuum truck rental service.
- Oversee fleet maintenance, scheduling, and availability to maximize uptime.
- Lead and develop a team of service technicians and rental coordinator.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Monitor performance and drive profitability.
Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience required
- Vocational School or other training preferred
- Proven experience in heavy equipment rentals, fleet management, or related industries.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and truck maintenance best practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage, costs, and operational efficiency.
