Assistant Controller
Vaden Automotive is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Controller to join our growing finance team in Savannah, GA. In this key role, you’ll work closely with the Controller to support all aspects of financial operations across our dealership campus. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to a high-performing team within a respected and dynamic automotive group.
What You’ll Do
- Accounting & Reporting: Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including payroll, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and weekly/monthly financial reporting.
- Deal Flow Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely recording of dealership transactions with a strong understanding of deal flow and deal management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments and accounting team members to maintain clear communication and support continuous improvement.
- Deadline Management: Meet critical deadlines for reporting and operational tasks while ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal processes.
- Project Support: Assist with ad hoc projects and evolving workflows that contribute to operational efficiency and strategic goals.
What You Bring
- Experience: 5 years in accounting or finance, with experience in the automotive industry or a closely related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dealership accounting systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or opportunities for process improvement.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing demands.
- Ethical Standards: High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial practices.
