This person should be a seasoned, self-motivated, professional with hands-on engineering and testing experience in virtualized environments. A skilled technician knowledgeable and experienced in infrastructure such as code environments, automating patches and system configurations, orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, automating and orchestrating operations, scaling releases, and day-to-day system operations in commercial cloud environments. This position is located in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site.

JOB DESCRIPTION :
VAE, Inc. is seeking an experienced Veritas System Administrator to support the Compartmented Enterprise Services Office (CESO) Task Order for the GIG Service Management Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This person should be a seasoned, self-motivated, professional with hands-on engineering and testing experience in virtualized environments. A skilled technician knowledgeable and experienced in infrastructure such as code environments, automating patches and system configurations, orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, automating and orchestrating operations, scaling releases, and day-to-day system operations in commercial cloud environments. This position is located in Arlington, VA and is 100% on-site.
The ideal candidate will :
- Be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the Veritas Netbackup application across multiple CESO Environments (Testing environments, Unclassified and classified environments).
- Maintain the appropriate DOD Cyber compliance level as directed by the program Cyber security office via patching and configuration using DISA STIGs.
- Provide technical input and accomplishing development, deployment and configuration tasks to maintain current operational environment.
- Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms.
- Perform periodic disaster recovery scenarios.
- Maintain backup policies and standards.
- Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
- Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers, and disk storage devices.
- Manage and execute complex databases backups, particularly in SQL and Oracle environments, to ensure data protection.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Follow and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes.
- Follow ITIL and industry best practices for Change Management
