The Role:
VAI Resort is seeking a highly experienced Director of Loss Prevention/Security for our resort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing all security and loss prevention measures to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and property at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of security personnel, ensuring their training and development to effectively carry out their duties.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and procedures to safeguard the resort's assets, guests, and employees.
- Oversees all loss prevention operations to include patrol process, emergency response, investigations for all guest and employee related incidents, shipping and receiving process, and electronic key system.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as hospitality, facilities, and HR, to ensure a holistic approach to security that aligns with overall resort operations.
- Partner with local law enforcement agencies and other security professionals, staying up to date on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Monitor and implement OSHA guidelines to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
- Oversee Worker’s Compensation claims and cases.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven leadership experience within loss prevention, preferably in a luxury hospitality or resort environment.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing security strategies.
- Proficiency in security software and systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, First Aid/CPR) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to move around the resort and its various facilities to conduct site inspections, monitor security measures, and respond to incidents effectively.
- Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
