- Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Evaluate individuals to identify the nature and severity of their communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Use standardized tests, observations, and other assessment tools to gather information.
- Develop a comprehensive diagnosis based on the assessment findings.
- Treatment and Intervention:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific communication and swallowing needs.
- Use various therapeutic techniques, strategies, and technologies to improve skills.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients and their families.
- Education and Counseling:
- Educate clients, families, and other professionals about communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide counseling and support to help individuals cope with communication challenges.
- Advocate for the needs of individuals with communication and swallowing disorders.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, occupational therapists, and educators, to provide comprehensive care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment plans.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Prepare reports and other documentation as needed.
