The Advertising Sales Manager is a key member of the company’s management team, with high levels of responsibility and accountability for the profitability and financial health of the business. The Sales Manager must effectively recruit, train, motivate, and manage a quality sales team, ensuring consistent levels of performance from each team member. The Sales Manager is charged with revenue planning and product development along with tactical execution of important and productive sales initiatives and must maintain an accurate picture of an evolving market and competitive conditions. The Sales Manager will prepare and submit detailed revenue and expense budgets as required.
Key Results / Job Priorities / Measures
- Achieve all budgeted Local, Niche and National sales, expense, and profit goals.
- Submit detailed revenue and expense budgets on company’s assigned timetable.
- Lead the development of effective new business strategies that will contribute to market share growth and ensure the company maintains and improves its competitive strengths and franchise value in the market.
- Provide effective in field coaching and monitoring for all direct reports, maintain high levels of morale and motivation, and achieve superior levels of team cohesion.
- Recruit, train, and develop superior sales professionals.
- Maintain direct contact with key accounts and agencies, secure visible leadership roles in community and continually develop advanced industry and market knowledge.
- Develop effective pricing and product strategies that are in line with industry best practices and company policies.
- Work in a collaborative and practical manner with other department heads and group properties.
- Constantly evaluate performance of all sales and sales support personnel and ensure high standards of accountability.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on sales results and trends.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedure, and practices, and values.

Duties / Responsibilities / Requirements
Working Conditions
Office and field environment. Primarily based in Eagle County with the Vail Daily’s enterprise location but will travel various times to other operations along with educational opportunities. Travel will include county, region and state.
Compensation
Salary plus bonus based on revenue and profit of the enterprise. Salary range is $85k-$92k plus bonus.
