The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the overall day-to-day financial and accounting oversight for the hotel. The position reports to the Director of Finance and works in concert with the hotel operational team and centralized accounting/finance to ensure a timely and accurate monthly close process. This job requires keen attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, a proactive mindset, and a strong work ethic.

The budgeted range starts at $80,000 - $85,000 annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience
Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly accounting close process working with stakeholders across the organization
- Month-end closing journal entries
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly Sales Tax Filings
- Manage two employees who support centralized billing and revenue audit
- Assist with producing monthly financial packages for 3rd party hotel owners
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization
- Communicate with hotel operational team on a regular basis to gather information and provide insight on financial results and market trends
- Liaison with 3rd party owners and Vail Resort’s shared service center relating to ad hoc requests and problem resolution
- Ability and willingness to gain working knowledge of hotel PMS systems to support billing and audit functions
- Other daily duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Stong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, systems skills and a proven understanding of the month end close cycle
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years accounting experience
- Professional accreditations strongly preferred (CPA, CMA or Master’s), but not required
- PeopleSoft experience - preferred
- Strong understanding of varying types of Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Previous exposure to inter-company accounting and cash management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Marriott experience preferred
- Previous experience using Hotel Property Management systems (Lightspeed preferred)
- On-site requirement – The Hythe at Vail
The expected pay range is $80,000 - $85,000 annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
