Job Summary:

The seasonal locator works with the Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek Field IT: Outside Plant Dept (OSP), assisting in underground cable locating and documentation. This position may also have you assisting the OSP analysts on projects outside and around our two mountain resorts.


Job Expectations:

  • Assist the OSP analysts with projects
  • Locate OSP facilities through the Colorado 811 ticketing system
  • This is a seasonal position that will report to Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek. The expected date range for employment is May 15th – Oct 15th
  • May assist in Onsite Incident Management response to resolve outages & damages
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Specifications:

  • Expected Pay Range: $22.00 - $29.00 / hour
  • Shift Type: Part Time, Summer Seasonal
  • Outlet: Vail Mountain and/or Beaver Creek IT offices


Job Duties:

  • Develop and exercise competency supporting Vail Resorts internal applications and systems, addressing issues that can be resolved locally and escalating as appropriate.
  • Use the work ticket management system to manage total workflow for support tickets in alignment with company metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Mentor/share job knowledge with junior PC Techs.
  • Coordinate and support the relocation and re-installation of IT equipment in offices, outlets, special event sites, etc.
  • Provide exceptional guest service while supporting users and collaborating with coworkers, ensuring the Experience of a Lifetime.

Drive Value for the Company:

  • Provide support for resort and remote-location sales points and peripherals.
  • Provide end-user support of IT-approved technology, including workstations, peripherals, printers, telephones, time clocks, etc.
  • Configure, track, maintain and properly dispose of IT-approved technology, including workstations, point of sale systems, hand-held devices, peripherals, etc.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation and SOPs as assigned.
  • Strive for continual improvement and growth by actively participating in company and IT-specific training.
  • Suggest and implement new ideas and tactics for improving user support and the guest experience.
  • Develop working knowledge of Vail Resorts' IT organizational structure and processes.
  • Mentor and share job knowledge/skills with junior PC Techs.
  • Assist with procurement.

Job Requirements:

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and friendly.
  • Solution-oriented with the desire to learn new skills.
  • Become familiar with technology support in an enterprise environment.
  • Able to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to move 50 lbs (with assistance if needed).
  • Should be able to work a schedule that can include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at intermediate level or desire to learn.
  • Valid US driver’s license.


The expected Total Compensation for this role is $22.00 - $29.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
