Job Summary:
The Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for driving value and leading innovation across multiple categories (Operational Goods & Capital Equipment) within the Resort Operations team. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing, and is based in the Company’s Broomfield, Colorado headquarters. The Manager, Strategic Sourcing will work closely with business and functional stakeholders to understand their needs, and will lead a small group of operational and strategic team members through a broad set of sourcing and procurement activities to achieve results. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven contract negotiation skills. Come create your experience of a lifetime!
Essential Capabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in leading strategic sourcing projects and multi-year category strategies from inception to implementation including strategic planning, negotiation, and contracting.
- Experience with leading a team of operational and strategic team members across multiple sub-categories.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and complex problem solving with the ability to develop pricing models appropriate for the goods/services being sourced
- Financially oriented and can tie strategies and initiatives back to value
- Collaborative team player
- High degree of ethics and integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and makes distilled points that are insight driven
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic thinking, thought leadership and supplier management in resort spend areas.
- Accountable for leading the development and execution of multi-year category strategies, aligning Vail Resorts’ sourcing objectives and strategies with overall business objectives.
- Perform spend analysis and develop and execute a sourcing roadmap focused on EBITDA cost savings, program compliance, supplier management, sustainability, and process improvement
- Inspire trust and build strong, positive, productive relationships with key business stakeholders and/or relevant internal teams.
- Cultivate leadership skills and create an environment of continual improvement both in and outside of your team.
- Develop and support key metrics (TCO, Supplier KPIs, Program Compliance, Savings Pipeline) to ensure needs of business are met
- Demonstrate an unyielding passion for the guest experience, culture, mission and vision.
Education, Training & Experience
- B.S. in Business, Finance, Supply-Chain, or related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in Sourcing & Procurement with responsibilities in resort spend categories
- CPM/CPSM certifications a plus
- Demonstrated project management experience
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $77,000 - $105,000 annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
